Residential Grade ADSL2+ - Get Connected

ADSL2+ is everything that ADSL is, and more.

ADSL2+ works by doubling the bandwidth used for data transmission, effectively doubling the maximum data rates. Actual speeds achieved will vary due to a number of factors including distance from the local telephone exchange, the quality of the copper phone line, EMI, cabling and equipment and network configuration and traffic.

The closer you are to your exchange, the higher your ADSL2+ speeds will be. For ADSL2+ to achieve the highest possible speeds you need to use a modem/router that is compatible with ADSL2+ and have ADSL2+ filters installed on all devices using the same phone line.

Basic ADSL2+ Plans

Options - Basic ADSL2+ Plans:

• Capped Option - Extra Data fees do not apply

• Shaped Option - Set your Shaping Limit and Shaping Speed. If you exceed the Included Data then Extra Data fees apply

• Static IP Address $6.60 per month

• Business Usage (unblocking of all ports including SMTP) plus a static IP address $6.60 per month

Notes - Basic ADSL2+ Plans:

• Capped Option: If selected then the plan will be Shaped to a maximum speed of 64 Kb/s when the Included Data limit is reached. The monthly fee will be the maximum monthly amount payable excepting options.

• Shaped Option: The Shaping Limit and Shaping Speed can be changed at any time upon request and will take effect from the next business day.

• Data is measured on downloads only so long as data uploaded to data downloaded does not exceed a ratio of 3:1.

• Data transferred between Depot IT Residential ADSL services within the same state is not metered.

• Residential ADSL services are not intended for running servers and some network ports may be blocked (eg. SMTP) unless the Business Usage option is selected.

• Unused included data from one month is not carried forward into the next.

• Where an end user downloads more then 30 GB in a calendar month, and uploads more then 50% of the amount downloaded in that month the tier-1 provider has the right to suspend or terminate the ADSL connection.

• Internet data is transmitted via a transparent cache.

• # Theoretical maximum speed which is subject to variables such as distance from the exchange, line quality, etc.

Bundled ADSL2+ Plans

All plans include monthly phone line rental and all phone services are provided on the Optus Phone network. To enable transfer of the phone service you will need to provide details of the Telstra account.

Options - Bundled ADSL2+ Plans:

• Shaped Option - Set your Shaping Limit and Shaping Speed. If you exceed the Included Data then Extra Data fees apply

• Static IP Address $6.60 per month

• Business Usage (unblocking of all ports including SMTP) plus a static IP address $6.60 per month

• Shaped Option: The Shaping Limit and Shaping Speed can be changed at any time upon request and will take effect from the next business day.

• Peak time is defined as the time period between 8:00AM and 11:59PM of the same day.

• Off-peak time is defined as the time period between 12:00AM and 7:59AM of the same day.

Residential Grade ADSL - Get Connected

ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) is high speed broadband Internet Access. What used to take hours to download will now take minutes. Furthermore, with ADSL there are no dial-up delays or busy signals to contend with. ADSL provides many improvements over the older analogue modem or PSTN technology, including:

• Digital Technology - more efficient and reliable connections.

• Faster - up to 5 times faster then a modem at 256/64K.

• Shared Phone Line - work on the same phone line as a fax or phone. You no longer need a phone line just for your Internet Dial up.

• No phone call costs - no hidden phone call charges saving the cost of a phone call every time you use it.

• Always on technology - no dialling up and waiting for the modem to connect - you are always on the net.

Basic ADSL Plans

Options - Basic ADSL Plans:

• Static IP Address $10.00 per month

• SOHO $6.00 per month - allows Internet servers such as email and other services to be run. Static IP address may also be required.

Notes - Basic ADSL Plans:

• Data is measured on downloads only so long as data uploaded to data downloaded does not exceed a ratio of 3:1.

• Data transferred between Depot IT Residential ADSL services within the same state is not metered.

• Capped plans will be shaped to a maximum speed of 56 Kb/s when the Included Data limit is reached. The Monthly Fee will be the maximum monthly amount payable excepting options.

• Residential ADSL services are not intended for running servers and some network ports may be blocked (eg. SMTP) unless the SOHO option is selected.

Flat Rate ADSL Plans

Notes - Flat Rate ADSL Plans:

• A Single Static IP Address is Included.

• Services are not to be used as a means of bandwidth supply for ISP services.

• Residential ADSL services are not intended for running servers and some network ports may be blocked (eg. SMTP).

Business Grade DSL is a premium service for business environments where fast and reliable Internet access is 'mission critical' for day-to-day business activities. There are several plans available to suit the needs of your network.

Tier 1 Services

Other Charges on all Plans:

• Internet Data $0.05/MB - no charge for data within the Depot IT network or Site to Site Business Grade Network data.

• Change of Plan (eg. speed or configuration) $130.00.

• Disconnection of Service within twelve (12) months will incur an additional charge for the balance of the contract.

• Dual Service Office - 1 site, 1 line, 2 ADSL services - please call us to discuss the options.

• Standard Site Cabling for All Services

• Country - $510.00

Notes on all Plans:

• Contract term is twelve (12) months and all services include a static IP Address.

• Cancellation of services requires 10 business days notice.

• Service Guarantee 99.9% uptime during business hours over a twelve-month period, excluding Maintenance Windows.

• Service type depends upon the Service Phone number and the suburb or area. Use the following as a guide:

  • Tier 1 Services – delivered using the NEXTEP Broadband Network and operate on a dedicated phone line. As a result site cabling will be required from the MDF to a phone socket.

  • Tier 2 Services – delivered using the Telstra Flexstream Network and are managed by NEXTEP Broadband.

  • Metro Services – located within city areas.

  • Country Services – located within towns and other regions of Australia.

• Teleworker Services - only available as Metro services in addition to other Business Grade ADSL Services.

• #   provided on a best effort basis. Under optimum line conditions it is configured as 8Mbps/384kbps (Downstream/Upstream speeds). The further the service is situated from the serving exchange the lower the Downstream and Upstream speed will be.

Whether you use the internet for a few hours each week to keep in touch with friends and family, or you spend a few hours each day, browsing, playing games, researching,.... Depot IT has a monthly plan for you.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality service. In order to keep speed and usability levels high we employ dynamic uplinks that increase in capacity as demand and usage increases ensuring that quality of service is maintained.

A one off set-up fee of $20.00 applies to all plans.

A 3 hour session time limit applies to all plans.

* A monthly discount of $2.50 applies if credit card details are supplied.

When it comes to trying out the internet for the first time we recognise that you don't know how much you will use it or in which ways. That's why we are flexible when it comes to your first months usage. If you under or over-estimate your usage for the first month on a monthly plan we will do what we can to adjust your plan, so you don't end up with a bill you can't afford.

Permanent Modem and ISDN Connections

A permanent connection to the Internet provides the advantage of being able to communicate with existing and potential customers via email quickly and conveniently at any time. The service will be available 24 x 7 via your own dedicated dial-in access number.

• 24 x 7 (730 hours per month) www, email and ftp connectivity to the Internet.

• Includes 10 email addresses.

• We recommend you use a dedicated phone line for these services.
